Our representative will receive you at Guwahati Airport and escort you to Samdrup Jongkhar through tea gardens, clear rivers, quiet villages and small townships with vibrant local culture. In the evening, you can take a walk around Samdrup Jongkhar town. Overnight at a hotel in Samdrup Jongkhar.

After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Trashigang, the major commercial hub of eastern Bhutan. This will be a scenic journey passing through tropical and broadleaf forests, villages and different vegetation zones. You will make stops at Narphung, Wamrong, Khaling and Kanglung to interact with the locals. Overnight at a hotel in Trashigang.

Today, you will drive to Sheytemi in Merak to attend the Rhododendron Festival, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. You can take a walk around the rhododendron trees and enjoy the beautiful landscape. A hot picnic lunch will be served at Sheytemi, where you can enjoy the views of the surrounding area. Later in the afternoon, you will continue your drive to Merak. Overnight at a farmhouse in Merak.

Today, you will explore Merak Village and experience the traditional lifestyle and culture of the local people. If you wish, you can also go on a short hike in the valley and enjoy the surrounding views. Overnight at a farmhouse in Merak.

After an early breakfast, you will enjoy a scenic drive to Sakteng via Rangjung. On the way, you will visit Rangjung Monastery. A hot packed lunch will be served at the monastery. After lunch, you will continue your drive to Sakteng. On arrival, you will check into your farmhouse. Overnight at a farmhouse in Sakteng.

It is worth spending an extra day in Sakteng to explore the life and unique culture of the Brokpa people. You may visit schools and interact with the locals to learn more about their culture, social life and religious traditions. You may also go on a hike and enjoy the beautiful views of Sakteng Valley. After breakfast, you will drive back to Trashigang. Upon arrival, you will visit Trashigang Dzong. Later in the afternoon, you will drive for about one hour to Radhi Village, which is renowned for its traditional “Bura” gho and kira, textiles made from raw silk. You will explore the village and interact with the local people. Overnight at a hotel in Trashigang.

This morning, you will drive to Trashiyangtse, which is well known for its traditional wooden bowl carving. You will have an opportunity to see local craftsmen making these wooden bowls. On the way, you will visit Gom Kora Temple. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche meditated here, and you can see impressions of his thumb, hat and body on the rock near the temple. You will also visit Chorten Kora, a white Nepalese-style stupa built in 1740 and one of the main attractions of eastern Bhutan. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Trashigang. After breakfast, you will drive back to Samdrup Jongkhar after exploring eastern Bhutan. Overnight at a hotel in Samdrup Jongkhar.
