The Journey
A Living Legacy of Courage & Faith
Long before the colorful celebrations begin, Punakha Dzong carries the memory of a defining chapter in Bhutan’s history. Each year, the Punakha Drubchen Festival brings that story back to life through dramatic battle reenactments, sacred mask dances, religious rituals, and vibrant community traditions.
As you witness the festival unfold, experience the rhythm of traditional music, the energy of the celebrations, and the devotion behind Bhutan’s ancient Buddhist heritage. Beyond the festival grounds, your journey continues through the beautiful Punakha Valley, where sacred temples, monasteries, traditional villages, and Himalayan landscapes reveal the timeless character of Bhutan.
This 7-day journey is more than a festival visit. It is an opportunity to step closer to Bhutan’s history, meet its people, and experience the traditions that continue to shape the country’s cultural identity.
Come for the festival, but leave with a deeper connection to Bhutan’s history, faith, and living heritage.
