Walk through quiet countryside and traditional villages, then camp along the trail for a closer experience of Bhutan’s rural landscapes and peaceful nights.
The Journey
A Different Way to Experience Bhutan
Imagine walking through quiet villages, crossing traditional farmlands, and spending nights camping along the trail. The Drukyul Walking Tour is an 8-day journey combining scenic walks, local villages, cultural sights, and a three-day trekking experience on the Trans Bhutan Trail through the countryside of Punakha.
Follow the Trans Bhutan Trail through terraced farmland, oak and rhododendron forests, and peaceful valleys, passing traditional homes and small villages along the way. The three-day section takes you from Punakha to Limbukha, Chungsakha and Samtengang, giving you a chance to experience rural Bhutan at a slower pace.
Along the journey, discover historic dzongs and temples, visit local cultural sites, cross suspension bridges, and hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Paro.
More than a walking holiday, this journey offers a chance to explore Bhutan on foot, spend time in its countryside, and experience Drukyul—the Land of the Thunder Dragon—from a different perspective.
