Detailed Itinerary

During the journey, one will experience breath-taking view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayanpeaks including the sacred Jumolhari and Mount JichuDrake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative. Drive along the Pachhu River for shore birds, Ibisbill, Brown dipper and others. Lunch at Thimphu/Dochula. Birding at Dochula pass; Myzornis, great parrotbill, long-billed thrush, Red-headed bullfinch and five species of laughing thrushes. Visit Royal Botanical Park and look for 3-5 species of cuckoo. Drive to Punakha and drive along the Punakha River and look for shore Birds and also look for two endangered birds Palla’s fish eagle and White-bellied heron. Night at Punakha.

After breakfast this morning, Ww will drive to Bumthang and on the way we be will do birding along the road, Pelela pass and Yotong la pass (Obove 3300m). We will look for Sunbirds, Wards Trogon, Satyr Tragopan, Himalayan Monal and Rosefinches. Night at Bumthang.

Today we will have a great Birding day. We will be entering in to the one of the Best Birding areas in Bhutan. We will see 4 species of pheasants such as Himalayan monal,
Blood pheasant, Satyr Tragopan and Kalijpheasant and others. Night at Yongkola.

Look for Rufous-necked Hornbill, Wren Babblers, Tawny Fish owl, Beautiful Nuthatch, Red-faced Liocichla, laughing thrushes and others.
Night at Yongkola.

Today you will drive same way back to trongsa and you will be birding along the road and at Thrumshing la and Yotong la Pass.
Night at Trongsa

Birding on the way and especially at Koshala; Forktails, Bhutan Laughing thrush, crested Bunting, Himlayan Prinia, barbets, grey-headed parrotbill, Piculets, Great and Rufous-necked Hornbills, Bulbuls and others. Overnight at Tingtibi

Today we look out for the special bird of this area. White-hooded babbler, pale-billed and white-breasted parrotbill, rufous-faced, yellow-bellied and yellow-vented warblers, cuckoos, woodpeckers like pale-headed, bay and fulvous white-browed scimitar Babbler. Great and rufous-necked hornbills can be found here too. Night at Tingtibi

Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, wreath and oriental pied Hornbill, evening we will do birding at sewerage. At night we will look for owl.
Overnight at Gelephu

Mynas, Indian Roller, Woodpeckers like Yellow Nape, Fulvous, Greater and lesser Flameback. Beautiful nuthatch, Long-tailed Broadbill, Collared treepie, coral-billed scimitar babbler, white-naped Yuhina and others. Night at Tsirang

Main highlight of today will be critically endangered White-bellied heron. Greater flameback, greater and lesser yellow nape, bulbuls, velvet-fronted Nuthatch and chestnut-headed beeeater and black-tailed crake. Night at Paro.

Early in the morning drive to Chele La for the four pheasants and then drive back to Paro. After breakfast, you will hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery,which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery situated at 3180meters. According to the legend, it is believed that Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress from Singye Dzong in Lhuntse to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. The Monastery is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters aboveParo Valley. Lunch will be served at the Cafeteria. 
Explore the monastery and hike back to the valley in the afternoon. Overnight Paro

After breakfast, you drive to the airport for departure. Our representative will bid you farewell.
