In the old days, when people didn’t travel too often, or meet many people, the annual tshechu at Chorten Kora was the place where young men and women from across the region would go to look for their significant other. This wonderful temple in Tashiyangtse, located besides a sheer cliff and admits green fields, is said to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche, and has a series of rocks and caves marked by the saint. The scenic drive to Gomphukora alone makes the visit worthwhile.
